ATV's are versatile and can be used to accomplish a variety of jobs around the house such as lawn mowing using a pull behind mower and for removing snow. Most ATV plows are made to fit most ATV makes and models.
Not all ATV plows are created equally, therefore it is good to have a general idea of how you want to use the plow before you purchase one. If you are only going to be using the plow occasionally a 48 inch blade is recommended, but for more frequent plow use or for bigger jobs you may want to consider purchasing a 54 or a 60 inch blade.
Smaller plow blades are much easier to maneuver and will provide you with more blade lifting options. Wider blow blades will allow you to cover a larger area in a simple pass but are not as easy to maneuver.
ATV plow blades are the ideal addition for your four wheeler. Blades which have a straight and angled design are best suited for general plowing and for pushing snow or other materials aside. A straight plowing blade is perfect for leveling ground and for pushing materials straight forward. An angled blade can be used for continually pushing material without building up a heavy load in front of the ATV.
The base of the ATV plow is very important as it is where the blade connects to the mounting gear. There are several options available which can increase the usefulness of the plow. A pivot or power-pivot is capable of turning the blade from left to right. Another useful feature is a quick disconnect which allows you to remove the blade of the plow quickly.
A permanent plate for mounting can be bolted or welded onto the ATV near the bottom of the ATV's frame near the foot peg area. The mounting plate will provide quick attachment and release of plow blades. Mounting the blade on the back of the frame instead of on the front of the frame of the ATV will transfer weight towards the rear and will help keep front ground clearance.
